Welcome!

I have always enjoyed being crafty. I remember getting really excited about stickers and fun stationary when I was little. Well its good to know that some things in life never change!

I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2005 and have been hooked ever since. My love of crafting has branched out to include DIY, projects, gardening, baking, and canning. I hope to share my projects here.

Bird Tag

Hi all!

I am trying to catch up on my tags for the 52 Tags in 2012 Challenge over at Pause Dream Enjoy. You can check out the challenge here.

This is week 6's tag. The theme is to make a tag with your favorite animal on it. I chose a bird, as I have always enjoyed bird watching.

The bird is printed from my Imagine machine, using Lori's Garden. I just received this cartridge and I just love all the soft colors and images of birds and butterflies.

I cut the image in layers, but I left out one of the layers for the swing. It was very delicate and I wasn't sure how I was going to layer that. Believe me, the scrolls on the bottom of the swing are thin enough, and are not even attached to the lower layer.

I dry brushed some Scrapbook Colors Paint by Making Memories, color: Shopping Bag, onto the base of the tag. I then stamped a swirl design over it in brown. The frame and tag were cut from Elegant Edges.

I don't have anything fancy on the back side of this tag, just my journaling about bird watching.

I have a few more tags to make to catch up to the current week's challenge, which is week 10! Boy its amazing how fast one can get behind with just a few weeks of downtime.

Well off to make more tags! :)

Thanks for visiting today.

Have a Great and Crafty Day!

Friend Tag

Hi all,

Today I am sharing the next tag for my 52 Tags in 2012 Challenge over at Pause, Dream , Enjoy. You can learn all about it here.

The Challenge for this tag was to make a tag in your BFF's Style. I chose my two closest crafty friends for my inspiration

Missie, from Created by Missie who LOVES to use glitter.
Jan from Craft Place who makes the most FABULOUS flowers.

I love hanging out with these ladies. We have the best time, and I am always learning new things from them.

So here is my tag:
I precut all my base pieces, and then I just cut all the layers each week for the challenge. I Saved a file on my gypsy with all the base, layers and frames all sized accordingly, so I can just open up that file and pick this weeks paper to cut.

This week I am using papers from a DCWV Dazzle stack I found on the clearance rack at JoAnn's earlier in the week. It was quite the score! I am telling you, this paper cuts like BUTTER on the Cricut! I am definitely getting more of this paper. It is so sparkly and it does NOT leave glitter all over the place like other glitter papers. I do not like have having glitter all over my mat, or worse, inside my machine. I cut this with a blase depth of 4, single cut, with an older blade. The white Bazzil used for the base I ALWAYS have to cut twice to get a nice clean edge.

I would recommend you getting a piece and trying it out!

Here is my recipe for today's project:
Tag - Elegant Edges - Page 38 Oblong Shadow @ 5 in.
Flower - Flower shoppe - Page 16 -Fun 3 6X z@3In. , Fun4 @3 in, Fun 2 @ 3in and 2.5 in.
Bookplate - Fabulous Finds - Pg.82 @1.5in.
Stamp & Ink - Stampin' Up.
Gem and Brads from my stash
Papers: DCWV Dazzle in Green patterned and Pink solid, and Bazzil Bling in White. Green scrap from my stash.

Thanks for visiting today.

Have a Great and Crafty Day!

52 Tags Challenge for 2012: Weeks 1-4

Hi all,
Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy has a year long challenge to make a tag a week and at the end of the year you have a nice tag album. You can find all the details here. I am hoping to complete this challenge this year. I have been following the challenge so far, but have yet to post any of the tags I have made.

So here are my tags:
Week 1: What are your goals, hopes dreams, resolutions:
This is from the Daily Grind paper line. It pretty much sums up my goals for this year. All I did was accent the hearts and flowers with diamond glaze and added some glitter to the word play and the me in time on the bottom.

All my tags are from Elegant Edges. Pg 38 Oblong Shift. cut at 5 inches.

Here is the backside of the tag, listing my actual goals. I used a CTMH stamp set to make the patterned paper, and an older journal card from Creative Memories. (use what I have!)
Here is week 2:
What is the last book you read? Well mine was The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. I am a big fan of The Lord of the Rings and I haven't read The Hobbit in many years, so I thought I would re-read it again.
The main character was created using the beardless gnome from Freshly Picked. I confess, I do not really like to make "people" in my crafting. I never can get their faces right, and I don't own any peachy Keen face stamps. (gasp!) Anyway...the sword and Mountains are from Paper Doll Dress Up, and the dragon is from Pagoda. That cloud paper is printed from my Imagine Best Friends.

Here is week 3: What do you think of when you hear "Warm and Cozy"
Well I think of snuggling in front of the fireplace:
The fireplace is from Christmas Cheer. I cut it several times in different colors and hand cut the pieces to get those extra layers. The Couch I made welding a couple of shapes from George together on my Gypsy. The hair pieces are from Paper Doll Dress Up. I used Rosie Day Embossing folder for the background.
Here is the back of Warm and Cozy..I found this great little journal card with a Fireplace on it in my stash! The sticker is Creative Memories.
Week 4: What are your favorite colors:
Mine are Pink and Green. I just love those color! My background paper was made with several different border stickers in my colors. I layered them next to each other and then trimmed off the edges. The font is Gypsy Font, welded together. I added some bling too!

Well..Hopefully I will be able to keep up with this challenge. I have pre-cut my base pieces to save me some time later on.

Go check out the challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy!

Thanks for visiting today.
