Princessaurus Shirt

Hi all!

Today I am sharing a t-shirt I made for my cousin's daughter. She loves dinosaurs and its not too easy to find girly dinosaur shirts.

I cut this cute dino from Create a Critter at about 5 inches. I used two different colored pink heat transfer vinyl and layered the pieces. I did use my Gypsy to hide a few contours on two of the layers.

The font is from Nursery Rhymes, its 1.25 inches. I really like it and use it a lot for my girly font. I used Glitter heat transfer vinyl for the hat as well as the font. Normally I would lay out the letters exactly how I want them to be on the shirt and then cut it that way, however, I didn't want there to be too much waste with the glitter vinyl, so I cut them separately and ironed them on one at a time.

The hat was cut from Once Upon a Princess. I sized it up on my Gypsy to fit the dino's head.

After I ironed on all my vinyl, I took a few thin strips of glittery tulle and sewed them to the tip of the hat. I added a few heat set gems to the hat as well.

I am quite pleased with how well it turned out. It is the first time I ever made a shirt with this type of vinyl layering. I am eager to try more vinyl designs on clothing.

Twilight Album and Scrabble Birthday Card

Hi all, I just wanted to say how much I love the Cricut Circle. There are some fantastically talented ladies there, and they are a constant source of ideas and inspiration.

Today I am sharing a couple of projects I have scrap-lifted from some circle friends.

The First project is a Twilight themed mini-album from Elizabeth at 217 Creations. As soon as I saw this project on Liz's blog, I knew I needed to make it for my BFF, who is a crazy Twilight fan.

So here is my version of the album. Its pretty much the same as Liz's except for a couple of the accents inside the album. I only added pics for the different accents. If you want to see the each page, visit 217 Creations and watch Liz's Video on her album.

I made this piece with some jewelry findings I picked up at Michael's on the clearance rack. I colored the top of the epoxy disc using alcohol Ink in Cranberry, and then I placed a Sticker on a white sheet of cardstock and adhered it to the reverse side of the epoxy disc and then glued it to the metal backing.
On this page, Liz made her own apple, but I found a coordinating box of chipboard elements on the clearance rack at JoAnn's so I used it instead. I added a little glimmer mist to the apple for some shimmer.
Here I used an actual piece of ribbon, as I didn't own the cartridges that Liz used for her ribbon accent. I just adhered the ribbon using Terrifically Tacky Tape.
Here I used I think Gypsy Font and one other font, I can't remember for the capital I. I then used some stickles to accent the letters I cut.


I also scraplifted the idea for her birthday card. She is a big scrabble fan, and I hate playing against her, as she knows all those ridiculous "scrabble words" that have been made up just so scrabble players can make two-lettered words using X and Q ! I made a change to her original design, as I took my scrabble board and scanned it and enlarged it so the tiles from Printing 101 cut at one inch would fit. I also added an inside sentiment.
My finished card size is 6" square.

I am happy to say that my BFF LOVED both the projects. So thanks Ladies for your inspirations!

These two projects are part of my July Cartridge challenge...sort of.. Well my challenge was to use Printing Press, and after i got my project all done I realized that the scrabble tiles were from Printing 101 NOT Printing Press. oops...lol

So...Printing Press went back into the jar to be pulled again another month. Sheesh, you'd think I'd double check my own challenge before embarking on a project. LOL I had one cartridge that I never got around to using in July, and that was Very Merry Tags. I hope to get to it soon.

My Smash book project - part 1

Hi all. Life has been so crazy here that I just haven't had time to post. I have a few posts that I hope to have up by later tonight or tomorrow.

I am still working on my smash book project. I had grand plans to post my ongoing progress, but as life goes, here we are at the end of the month and I haven't posted one progress post. lol

So..I thought I would share what I have done so far....
I wanted to do a theme of the Month of July. I was trying to give a fairly good picture of what our life is like on a day to day basis here.

I have the book taken apart, as it was easier to rearrange the pages that I have worked on so far. No page is complete yet, as I have to do some journaling on some of the pages.

I have been trying to use up things in my stash, so I have been using stickers where I can. I'll admit, I don't use many stickers anymore since I discovered my Cricuts, and I have a huge stash of them, so I am glad to be using some of those up. I did cut the July 2011 from Nursery Rhymes. I really like that font. I have used it quite a few times.

Here is a page on a family BBQ we had. The top note is cut from my Imagine, I flood filled the stock shape using the Best Friends Cartridge. I printed it on the reverse side of a store-bought printed paper. Instant two sided paper! I love the Imagine for this. The Grill was cut from Block Party Lite Cartridge.
Here is a 4th of July page. I used Independence Day for the title and the firecrackers. The journal tags and diecuts were from Yankee Doodles paper from We R Memory keepers.
Here is some paper from Simple Stories - 100 Days of Summer from Archivers. The felt flower is from my stash from last Valentine's Day. The paperclip I got from Staples. It looks like the ones that K&Co sell as their "Smash" clips, but I got a whole lot bigger package with many cool colors for a fraction of the price.
This is on the playgrounds we have played at this month. I am still working on most of these pages. The embellishments are Jolee's foam stickers that I have had for years.
Here is a page that is going to have some journalling about what we did when the weather was too hot or rainy to be outside. I printed the cloud papers using my Imagine and Best Friends and Hopscotch cartridges. The kid with the umbrella and the Rain title are from Nursery Rhymes.


Here is a record of the weather/temperatures for the month. I added a little Arizona die cut from K & Co. and an arrow cut from Going places. It talks about how phoenix had an actual temperature of 118 degrees. OOh that is hot.
Here is a close up of some of my journaling as well as a news paper clipping about the extreme rain Chicago was hit with. I stamped the arrow.

July Cartride Challenge Picks

Hello All! I can't believe it is July 1st already! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

I have been plugging away at my cartridge challenge pretty, and am happy to say that I have so far, used 89 of my 137 cartridges in posts on my blog. I have 48 more carts to use in blog posts to complete my challenge. I feel pretty happy at my current progress, and I plan to keep plugging away at my challenge.
