Welcome!

I have always enjoyed being crafty. I remember getting really excited about stickers and fun stationary when I was little. Well its good to know that some things in life never change!

I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2005 and have been hooked ever since. My love of crafting has branched out to include DIY, projects, gardening, baking, and canning. I hope to share my projects here.

Glitter Snowflake ornament - Circle Blog Challenge

Hi all!

Today I am sharing an ornament I made for the Cricut Circle Weekly Blog Challenge. I haven't participated in a challenge in quite a while. Making all those Christmas crafts has got me back into the swing of crafting, and I am loving it!

So the requirements for the challenge is two Cricut images and glitter.

Here is my ornament:
Sorry for the dark pictures. The lighting in my scraproom is dreadful. (as is my photographer skills. lol)

Anyway..... I started with a plastic ornament that comes in two pieces that snap together. Mine is from Darice. I layered a teal glitter on the inside of the back piece using floor wax.
I then cut a 3D snowflake from Winter Lace. I actually cut two of each layer to give it some strength. I then glittered the snowflake added some gems and a hanger made from clear thread.
I suspended my snowflake inside the two halves and then glued the ornament shut. I layered a piece of sparkly teal tulle around the seam of the ornament and tied it into a bow at the top. I cut a two-layered snowflake from Art Philosophy and added it to the bow. I also used some twine for the hanger.
It went together fairly fast if you don't count the glitter/glue drying time. lol.

All in all, its a pretty easy ornament to make.

Christmas is almost upon us, and I still have projects I am working on. I also still need to make cookies. eek!

Thanks for visiting today. I am off to get more glitter everywhere. :)

Hope your Holidays are full of glitter too!

Light Up Xmas Ornament

Here is the Ornament I made for the Cricut Circle Magazine Xmas Ornament Challenge.
I used an inexpensive light up necklace as the lights on the xmas tree. The Tree cut is from the Christmas solutions cartridge. I cut the main image, the shift layers and a blackout feature. Then I decided where I want the lights to go on the tree and used a punch to make holes for the lights to go through. I then taped the string of lights in between the main layer and the blackout layer. I finished the tree with a little wrap of sparkly fiber.

For the window scene, I used the Window cut from the same cartridge. I used my gypsy to stretch the image out a little to give it some more width. I then cut the image three times, once in dark brown cardstock with the window panes, and twice without the windows panes; one chipboard and one acetate. I adhered the acetate layer to the back of the brown cardstock layer. I used stickles on the acetate for the snow.

For the landscape scene, I also used the cottage from the Christmas Solutions cartridge. I added sparklyfluff to the snow cuts on the roofs and surrounding the cottage. I used the Divine Swirls Cuttle Bug folder for the snow covered hill. The moon and cloud cut was from Dreams Come True.

I attached a string to the top back layer to hang the ornament on the tree, and I taped the battery compartment from the necklace to the back of the ornament.
