Welcome!

I have always enjoyed being crafty. I remember getting really excited about stickers and fun stationary when I was little. Well its good to know that some things in life never change!

I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2005 and have been hooked ever since. My love of crafting has branched out to include DIY, projects, gardening, baking, and canning. I hope to share my projects here.

Little Easter Baskets

Hi All! Hope everyone is doing well. There was a post about a week ago on the Circle Blog where the designer had a little chocolate bunny in a cupcake wrapper at each place setting. I thought that was so cute, I decided to make something like that. Instead of using a cupcake wrapper, I cut the basket from Easter -seasonal. I cut it at 6". I then used my gypsy and sized the pointed doily from the cart so it would fit on the front of the basket. It's about .89". I then cut the bunny and its layer at 1.8"
The Handle has a flower and leaves as part of it, but there is no layer to it, so I created one. I used Mother's Day - seasonal cart and cut the flower on the 5th button. I used my Gypsy to hide the center of the flower and then I cut it 2.06". I had sized it up to fit over the flower on the handle. I then cut it in white and again in a green. I hand-trimmed the flower and leaves apart and glued them onto the handle. The tiny flower in the center is from a mini punch I have.

I bought Little chocolate bunnies to put in the baskets as well as the colored egg that my daughter's made for everyone.

I hope everyone has a Great Easter!
(and maybe some Crafty time too!)

Anniversary Coupon Book

Well I finally finished my Cartridge challenge to use Mother's Day Seasonal 2010. I am running a bit behind schedule, as it is already into the next week. Hopefully I can get all caught up this week, and keep up with my own challenges.

This is a gift for my DH for our upcoming anniversary. It has just a few coupons for things like sleeping in, lunch dates, and backrubs.
I used my Gypsy to hide the word "book" on the cover. I then added an s from Blackletter to the word coupon. I cut the back layer twice, once in blue and once in yellow to layer behind the front cover. I also cut "you" in yellow using the Blackletter font. The 4 was also from Blackletter. I decorated the outside using some prima flowers and mini flowers and butterflies from a Creative Memories mini punch. I added some bling and doodles using Sakura gelly roll Metallic in Black, and Clear Sparkle. I love these pens for adding some sparkle to a project without the mess of glitter.

The inside coupons were layered with a piece of patterned paper from my stash. I printed the coupons on my computer and had cut them to fit on the backside of the tags. I stamped the word coupon, using some small alpha stamps in Stampin' Up Concord Crush Ink. I then used the same ink to ink up the edges of the coupons. I added an extra punched butterfly to each coupon.

It is just a little something for my DH to let him know I appreciate him.

Have a Great Day!

Cartridge Challenge - Week 6

Here are this weeks cartridges picks:
ZooBalloo

This is really cute font with animal to go with each letter. I have used the font alone many times. I have also used the animals for various projects too. Being an older cartridge, the cuts and layers are simpler than the new cartridges. Sometimes the simpler cuts can be easier to use. What I haven't used on this cartridge is some of the other features like the card or box feature. Perhaps I will explore those images first.
Mother's Day Seasonal

There are some lovely intricate lace designs on this cartridge. As this is a seasonal cartridge, there are fewer images to choose from, which can make the decision making both easy and difficult.

I am enjoying the challenges I have faced so far in using these cartridges as I draw them from my jar.

Have a great week!
