Welcome!

I have always enjoyed being crafty. I remember getting really excited about stickers and fun stationary when I was little. Well its good to know that some things in life never change!

I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2005 and have been hooked ever since. My love of crafting has branched out to include DIY, projects, gardening, baking, and canning. I hope to share my projects here.

Friend Tag

Hi all,

Today I am sharing the next tag for my 52 Tags in 2012 Challenge over at Pause, Dream , Enjoy. You can learn all about it here.

The Challenge for this tag was to make a tag in your BFF's Style. I chose my two closest crafty friends for my inspiration

Missie, from Created by Missie who LOVES to use glitter.
Jan from Craft Place who makes the most FABULOUS flowers.

I love hanging out with these ladies. We have the best time, and I am always learning new things from them.

So here is my tag:
I precut all my base pieces, and then I just cut all the layers each week for the challenge. I Saved a file on my gypsy with all the base, layers and frames all sized accordingly, so I can just open up that file and pick this weeks paper to cut.

This week I am using papers from a DCWV Dazzle stack I found on the clearance rack at JoAnn's earlier in the week. It was quite the score! I am telling you, this paper cuts like BUTTER on the Cricut! I am definitely getting more of this paper. It is so sparkly and it does NOT leave glitter all over the place like other glitter papers. I do not like have having glitter all over my mat, or worse, inside my machine. I cut this with a blase depth of 4, single cut, with an older blade. The white Bazzil used for the base I ALWAYS have to cut twice to get a nice clean edge.

I would recommend you getting a piece and trying it out!

Here is my recipe for today's project:
Tag - Elegant Edges - Page 38 Oblong Shadow @ 5 in.
Flower - Flower shoppe - Page 16 -Fun 3 6X z@3In. , Fun4 @3 in, Fun 2 @ 3in and 2.5 in.
Bookplate - Fabulous Finds - Pg.82 @1.5in.
Stamp & Ink - Stampin' Up.
Gem and Brads from my stash
Papers: DCWV Dazzle in Green patterned and Pink solid, and Bazzil Bling in White. Green scrap from my stash.

Thanks for visiting today.

Feel Better Soon Gift box

Hi all,

Here is my entry into this weeks Cricut Circle Blog Challenge.
The challenge is is to create a Get well card or gift set for a friend.

It must contain two Cricut cuts, Cuttlebug embossing, Kraft stock and string in the project.

I made this cute Doctor's bag using the toolbox cut on Sweet Tooth Boxes in black cardstock. I cut the handle and clasp in a shiny silver paper from a scrap I had. I added some heat set studs to the clasp, handle, and edges of the top of the bag. I love these! They give the same look as a brad, but without the legs of the brad showing on the reverse side. I made the cross by welding two rectangles from the George and Basic shapes cartridge. I then embossed the cross with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

Here is a closeup of the tag. I used the clipboard cut from Fabulous Finds Cartridge. I cut it twice, one in the silver and once again in Kraft paper. I layered the craft onto the silver to help give some pop to the silver clip portion of the cut. I added a stamped sentiment to a layered piece of cardstock, and affixed some studs to the tag. I attached it to the bag with twine. I also added a magnetic closure under the silver tag to keep the bag closed and added a big red bow tot the front.

Here is what I filled my box with: A home made cup of Chicken noodle soup mix. I printed the directions on my computer, stamped a circle around them and punched it out with a 1.5" circle punch. I attached it to a 2" scalloped circle cut. I also added some cherry couch drops, tissues, and a couple packets of tea.

I am really pleased with how cute this little box came out. I can't wait to try more boxes from this cartridge.

Thanks for visiting today.

Howdy Card

I am a little late in posting this project for my week 7 Cartridge Challenge. I wanted to wait until the recipients received it, I didn't want to spoil the surprise.

This card was made for my roommates for the upcoming Dallas Stampede weekend March 18th-20th. The Stampede is sponsored by Provo Craft and Creative Critterz Events. If you would like more information about the Stampede visit here.

My roomies and I have been so excited with the planning and making of things for our weekend getaway. The western theme is so easy to work with! I will post more of our Stampede projects as we get closer to the event.

Now on to today's card:

I cut 4 different silhouettes from Forever Young. I just love these cuts. I only cut the base layer for each lady. I then cut cowboy hats from Country Life, pg. 37 in the handbook. I used my gypsy to hide the cuts from that image that weren't needed. I also used my gypsy to size the hats down to the correct size. I cut 4 hats and its corresponding layer, two cut as is, and two flipped for the ladies facing the other direction.

I cut a Bookplate and its blackout layer from Fabulous Finds. I printed Howdy as well as the sentiment inside the card. I sandwiched Howdy between the bookplate layers to give it more strength. I inked the edges of the bookplate with charcoal chalk. I added two small star brads to the bookplate.

The patterned papers are from K and Co. Smitten collection from last year. The cream colored cardstock is DCWV. The gingham ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.
Here is the inside of the card:

I hope to see you all in Dallas in March!
Have a Great Day!
