Welcome!

I have always enjoyed being crafty. I remember getting really excited about stickers and fun stationary when I was little. Well its good to know that some things in life never change!

I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2005 and have been hooked ever since. My love of crafting has branched out to include DIY, projects, gardening, baking, and canning. I hope to share my projects here.

Retractable Gypsy Stylus holder

Hello all! I just wanted to share my idea for keeping track of my Gypsy stylus. I am constantly setting it down and then it gets buried on my craft table, or I just plain forget where I put it. I have tried to use bracelets and wrist straps with my stylus, but I find that having a stylus dangling from my wrist while I am trying to craft is just a tad annoying.

Here it is:

My husband had one of these retractable ID reels for his work ID, and I thought it would be great to use for my stylus.
I picked up this package of reels from Staples office supply.

I used some pliers to open up the V-ring that was attached to the ID badge holder.

I added a jump ring to my stylus, hooked it through the V-ring, and then reattached it to the badge reel.

Here it is all attached

I decorated it using a 1" circle of Bazzil Bling paper, and a 1" Font 1 Shift J on page 47 from my new Cricut Everyday cartridge. I used some Shimmer Mist to give my Monogram some sparkle, and then finished off my reel with some mini gems and ribbon.

Here is a close up of the back. It has a clip on it. I just hook it to my collar or pocket.

Here is a picture of it pulled out some. The reel has a 33-inch cord, plenty of line to comfortably reach my Gypsy. I just have to remember not to let it fly back into place, or I may be hitting myself in the face with my stylus! LOL

Have a Great and Crafty Day!

Autumn Fun - Week 1 Challenge

Here is my second project for my Cartridge Challenge. This time I needed to use Stretch your Imagination.

I looked through this handbook and struggled with trying to find a cut I wanted to use. Honestly I remember when this cartridge first came out I just HAD to have it, and while I was trying to figure out what I was going to make using this cartridge I kept asking myself exactly why did I need this cartridge so bad??

After much deliberation I decided on the Autumn title cut. I used the "stretched version" on page 42 of the handbook. It was cut at 7". The Fun was cut from Gypsy Font. I used my Gypsy to size the font to match the Autumn word, then I welded together the u and n.

The two leaf borders were cut from Gypsy Wanderings at 1".

All paper used was from My Minds Eye Simply Delightful stack. I just love this stack. The colors and patterns are so..delightful. LOL

I inked the edges of a few of the papers and around my photos with Colobox Chalk in Chestnut Roan.

I finished off the page with a few buttons, twine, and a giggle stamp from a set I bought at Archiver's.

I am glad this one is done. I hope next week's choices aren't so difficult to utilize.

Celebrate Card

Here is a card I made for the Circle Blog Weekly Challenge

The card was made using Bazzil Card Stock and My Minds Eye Patterned Paper from the Simply Delightful Stack

I cut the Card Base from Birthday Bash along with the Celebrate that goes with it.
The Bottle and glass were from Simply Charmed. I used my Gypsy to hide the faces from those cuts.
I also used my gypsy and sized an oval from George to fit onto the from of the card.
The tag is a cuttlebug die, stamped with black StazOn ink.
I used some gems for the bubbles and confetti over the bottle.
I also used some Sparkle Shimmer Spritz on the phrase, bottle and glass.
