Welcome!

I have always enjoyed being crafty. I remember getting really excited about stickers and fun stationary when I was little. Well its good to know that some things in life never change!

I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2005 and have been hooked ever since. My love of crafting has branched out to include DIY, projects, gardening, baking, and canning. I hope to share my projects here.

Heart Shaker Wand

This is a project I made for the Cricut Circle Blog weekly Challenge. The theme is Whatevah! And the requirements are that you use the same shape three times in the project and some spray ink.

I used Cake Basics for the base heart shape. I used my gypsy to make a silhouette layer, and then a solid layer for the back. I placed smaller hearts onto the heart base and silhouette layer and then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist in Candy Apple Red. I then cut a solid heart in acetate and adhered it to the back side of the silhouette layer.

I then cut a lovebug on page 31 from Simply Charmed. I put some googily eyes on him to make him a little sillier.

I attached foam adhesive strips to the perimeter of the base heart, and that gave my sides for the shaker box.

I filled the shaker with Hearts cut from Lacy Labels, and some small glittered heart stickers from my stash. I then inked the sides of the foam tape with red so they blended more with the heart.

I inked a skinny dowel rod with colorbox ink in Cyan, and then attached it to the back of my shaker with E6000 adhesive. I tied some ribbon in red and pink to the dowel right under the heart.

Kitchen Wall Hanging - Week #1 Challenge: Celebrate With a Flourish

Here is my first project in my Cartridge Challenge using Celebrate with a Flourish
Cartridges used in this project:
Celebrate with a Flourish for the Wine Bottle/glasses
Lacy Labels for the base shape
Calligraphy for the Gratitude Font

I recycled a large gift box for the chipboard base for the project. I cut it three times at height of 11 inches. Two cuts in the chipboard, and one in Black Glitter paper from DCWV. This size gave it a width of almost 13 inches, so I used my 12x24 mat and paper.

I then stapled a ribbon to the inside layer of chipboard. I glued all three pieces together and inked the edges.

I cut the Cement colored cardstock twice at 10.5 inches and 10.25 and then inked the edges and layered the pieces. I placed small black gems in the corners.

The wine bottle and glasses layers were cut at 8.5". I cut the base layer once and the bottle and glass layers two times each. I layered the pieces with foam tape between them to give added dimension.
The font was cut a 1.63" I love this calligraphy font, but those pieces are skinny and a little fragile.

I am really pleased with how this project turned out. I am looking forward to completing more projects in this challenge.
