Welcome!

I have always enjoyed being crafty. I remember getting really excited about stickers and fun stationary when I was little. Well its good to know that some things in life never change!

I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2005 and have been hooked ever since. My love of crafting has branched out to include DIY, projects, gardening, baking, and canning. I hope to share my projects here.

February Placemats

Hi all,

I am making my daughter's placemats for every month this year. You can see the previous ones here.

Here are the February ones:

Maddie and Ellie each choose their own patterned paper from my stash.

I then cut their names using the Rock Princess Heart font and shadow. The names looked a little lost on the patterned paper, so I added a strip of white glitter paper under the names. I accented the names and corners of the white paper with some glittery heart stickers I bought a few years ago.
Here is Ellie's mat:

They are quite plain, as the Your Story Laminator works best on thinner and fewer layered items.

I also have decided that vinyl works best for the letters/layers as it is so much thinner. I need to up my vinyl stash so that future placemats can have more layers.

Thanks for visiting today

Dallas Stampede Calling Card

Happy Friday to All! I am on my way to Dallas for the Stampede. HOORAY! So I thought I would share with you the Calling Cards I made for the Stampede.

The Cactus images is From the Hero Arts Howdy Stamp set.

The Mermaid is compiled from cuts from several different cartridges. I used my gypsy to get the sizing right on the cuts. For the top half of the Mermaid, I cut the girl from Rock Princess pg. 34. I cut off her legs (eek!) and removed the guitar from her hands. I also cut her shirt, face, arms, and hair.

Her tail was cut from Dreams Come True pg. 32. I used glimmer mist in Key Lime Pie on both pieces of her tail.

The scarf is from Old West pg. 35. I flipped the image and used my hide contour feature to remove some of the cuts, as I was cutting that image VERY small.

Finally her hat and its band was cut from Once Upon a Princess pg.41. I used Glimmer Mist in Pearl on the Hat pieces.

The seahorse is from Life's a Beach, Pg. 69. I only cut the base layer for the seahorse, as most of it would be hidden. I Inked the edges of the seahorse with Colorbox Ink in Cyan. I also used Sea Glass Glimmer Mist on it, and used a gem for the eye that I colored myself with my Bic Mark-its.

I made her little Lasso with Hemp.

Hope you enjoyed my Calling Card. I hope to swap these out and recieve tons of cards from my fellow Circlets in Dallas! Hope to see you there!

Crown Birthday Invite

Hello All,
What a crazy week, last week was, between Dentist appointments, meetings, and birthday parties, I didn't get much crafting done at all. Hopefully this week will be better! Here is another installment in my Cartridge Challenge. I used Rock Princess for the invites for my daughter's birthday party this year.

It's a pretty simple card, as the invites are for 8 and 9 year olds. I cut the Crown from page 39 in Rock Princess at 3.86 inches. I used some Sakura GellyRoll pens in Green Star and Black Star to give the gems a little more sparkle. I love these pens for adding a quick touch of sparkle without the drying time of stickles. I only wish they came in more color choices.

The Sentiment is from a Baby shower invite stamp set, I believe may be Hero Arts. The punch used on the sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

The border stamped images on the background were from an older clear border set, I picked up from Archiver's a few years ago.

Cartridge Challenge changes to Monthly

Howdy! I am really starting to get excited for my trip to Dallas for the Stampede! I have been in Dallas project mode for a while, and as the event nears, I have more and more things to do to get ready for that.

So...I have decided to change up my Cartridge Challenge.

I am still going to tackle the challenge of using all of my cartridges. I seem to be having trouble keeping to the one week deadline I gave myself, so I am going to start pulling a months worth of cartridges at once, and then have the entire month to do them all. I will still be attempting to use 2 a week, or 8 for an entire month.

So for the March I will be using:

Chore Chart -Lite
Accent Essentials
Tie the Knot
Rock Princess
Twinkle Toes -Lite
Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More
Imagine More Cards -Imagine
50 States -Classmate

With this new system, I think I can still challenge myself to use cartridges that are just sitting on my shelf, but allow for a little more flexibility to do other projects as well.

Now I'm off to make something!

Abc Book 1 - Pic HEAVY

Here is an ABC book I made for my niece. It is such a picture heavy project that I split the posting up into two parts. I used many, many cartridges for this project. And it is a very simple pages, the cuts are arranged so I could label everything. I will list each cartridge used on the page under each picture, except for the letters used on each page were from the Mickey and Pooh Font Cartridges. I couldn't label every cartridge used! LOL

After I completed making all the pages, I then laminated them and used the Your Story to bind them into a book. I took pictures of the pages before they were laminated. The lamination wasn't the best on the pages, as there were so many layers and levels to the surface of the page, but since this was a book for a one year old, I wanted it to hold up to a kids love. For the cover, I adhered my cut with ModPodge and then went over the cuts again, sealing them on to the cover. That has held up quite well.
